2017 ACA Whitewater SUP Nationals
Dates: July 1-2
Saturday July 1 – SUP Sprint
Sunday July 2 – SUP Downriver
*Safety meetings will be held on day of race prior to launches and are mandatory
Formats: One Class – Open 11ft board length. Same board must be used in both events: Sprint & Downriver.
Racers will be encouraged to compete in both with the fastest time combined equating to the overall ACA WW SUP champion. However winners will be crowned in both events.
Men’s, Women’s, and Youth divisions. Age determined by committee.
Board Length and Equipment and Experience:
All are subject to inspection at pre-race safety meetings, and or throughout events.
Max board length of 11ft One board (the same) must be used in both Sprint and or Down river.
*River appropriate boards are highly recommended (i.e. inflatable, rotomold, and or composite specific). The Regatta, it’s committee, safety personal, volunteers, nor sponsors are responsible for lost or damaged boards/gear. Race at your own risk.
Leashes are required. Must be of quick release from waist or PFD, and releasable or “half wrap” to board. This will be inspected. No attachment to ankle or calf allowed.
Type III, V coast guard approved whitewater appropriate PFD.
Closed toe shoes
Whitewater/canoe sport specific helmet
Knee/shin pads and body armor are highly recommended
Should be familiar and comfortable paddling class – I-III whitewater
